Seoafin “Finnie” Wilde was taught by her parents that every breath was a treasure and to seek every adventure she could find. And she learns this lesson the hard way when they perish in a plane crash. But she never forgets and when she discovers there is a parallel universe where every person has a twin, she finds a witch who can send her there so she can have the adventure of a lifetime.
But upon arrival in the Winter Wonderland of Lunwyn, she realizes she’s been played by her twin and finds herself walking down the aisle to be wed to The Drakkar.
Thrown into inauspicious circumstances, with years of practice, Finnie bests the challenges and digs into her adventure. But as Frey Drakkar discovers the woman who is his new wife is not Princess Sjofn, a woman he dislikes but instead, his Finnie, a free-spirit with a thirst for venture just like him, without her knowledge he orders his new bride bound to his frozen world, everlasting.
But at the same time Frey plunges Finnie into a web of political intrigue that includes assassination plots, poison, magic, mystery and… dragons.
“It was beyond anything I could have wished it to be. You are, my wee Finnie, beyond my wildest dreams.”
Magical, beautiful, and otherworldly romantic. Wildest Dreams is as epic as a love story can possibly be.
Wildest Dreams was indeed beyond my wildest dreams. I am, for whatever reason, a skeptic of the fantasy genre. Even though I’ve read many a fantasy novel that I’ve loved, I still am not immediately drawn to it. Even if it has Kristen Ashley’s name on it. Well, damn did she ever teach me a lesson!
This book is one of my all-time favorite books, hands down. It has to be one of the most absolutely romantic books I’ve ever read. My heart feels so full. Frey and Finnie will forever be two of my most favorite characters.
This story is so imaginative and unique; I couldn’t get enough of it. I was so drawn in to this amazing Fantasyland. The characters are complex and interesting, each one bringing something special to the table. The beauty of the world that Kristen Ashley creates is truly breathtaking. Few authors can spark and stimulate my imagination the way that she can. I haven’t fallen in love with a book or its characters this hard in a long time.
Finnie’s character is wildly charming, and her spirit for adventure is contagious. She’s funny and sweet and so lovely. I couldn’t help but fall in love with her. But Frey is something else altogether. He’s strong and formidable. But as Finnie will discover, he’s also kind, gentle, sweet, and soooooo very romantic.
I never wanted this story to end and I wanted to savor it but I couldn’t stop myself from devouring page after page. I’m a huge Kristen Ashley fan and for the most part I’ve come to know what to expect from her. But she blew me away. Wildest Dreams is so different, yet also chock full of what I’ve come to love about her. Whether you are a fantasy reader or not, this book is an absolutely must read.
