This week’s Top Ten Tuesday – brought to you by The Broke and the Bookish – is all about holiday dreaming. Here’s a list of books I wouldn’t mind Santa bringing me for the holidays:
Hummingbird is actually the person who has harassed me to read this book and I still haven’t done it. But I fully intend to! When the mood strikes me to break out of my comfort zone. I have to work up to it. But very rarely has she led me astray on this kind of book, especially if she’s insistent.
I wanted to wait for some of the hype to die down before I read this one. It got a lot of attention around release time though and it’s had me intrigued since. And that cover! Hello! Yummy. Even if the book sucks, it sure would be pretty on my bookshelf, right?
I mentioned this author in my last Top Ten. The first book, Asking for It, was the book that made me uncomfortable because of the sensitive subject matter. But it was so hard to put down and I’m still morbidly curious about where their story goes.
I read the first book in this series, The Gentleman Mentor completely on a whim because I wanted a gratuitously sexy book and I was totally surprised by how much I loved it. I’m hoping this one will be equally as shocking.
I’m kind of afraid of this book. I loved the Eversea books so much and I’ve heard that this one is very different. I get the vibe that this one is going to make me an emotional wreck and as I’ve expressed before, I’m a total chicken.
I know, I know! Don’t yell at me. No, I still haven’t read it. Again, I’m a chicken. Even though I’ve been told by several people that it’s nowhere near as heartbreaking as Bright Side was, I just can’t build up the courage to get around to it.
Of course I wouldn’t mind Santa leaving this one under my tree. It’s Kristen Ashley. And naturally I’ll read it at some point, probably in the very near future. This one was probably too easy of a choice to put on the list but I had to.
This is, once again, an author that I’m afraid of. I have no real reason to feel this way, other than simply the synopsis for this one kind of warns me off a little. But so many people love her and I’m oddly intrigued.
This is one that’s been on my TBR for a long time but it’s just so different from what I usually read that I haven’t taken the time to suck it up and read it. I liked the NA book of hers that I read, but it didn’t overwhelm me. Everyone has told me that I have to read her paranormal stuff. So… when I get in another funk and need something completely out of the norm, this will probably be one of the ones I go with.
Santa is magical and can bring me ARCs, right? Surely he has the hook-up with Elle Kennedy. Right?! It’d only be a little over 2 weeks early. I feel like that’s not asking too much.
Are there any books that you have your eye on this season, but are withholding to buy because, well, other people should get gifts first?
