I wanted to jump.
He made me fall.

As a celebrity, I lived in the public eye, but somewhere along the way, I’d lost myself in the spotlight.

Until he found me.

Sam Rivers was a gorgeous, tattooed stranger who saved my life with nothing more than a simple conversation.

But we were both standing on that bridge for a reason the night we met. The secrets of our pasts brought us together—and then tore us apart.

Could we find a reason to hold on as life constantly pulled us down?

Or maybe there’s only one direction to go when two people fall in love at rock bottom—up.

I went into this book with zero expectations. I knew that I loved the cover and I wanted to read the second book. That’s it. That cover is gorgeous, right? I was completely unfamiliar with the author, hadn’t heard any of my friends’ opinions on it, didn’t even read the synopsis.

I loved it.

The Fall Up was simultaneously lighter and heavier than I expected. The subject matter that the book sort of revolved around was pretty dark but it was handled in a way that made it okay to talk about, which I think is really important. It’s something that needs to happen a lot more in this world.

I loved the characters. Sam is amazing! He’s sweet, sexy, funny as hell, and an all around great guy. I loved everything about him. His sense of humor really made me fall even more in love with the story. Levee’s character is also really great. I love that she’s this big time successful celebrity but she’s the furthest thing from perfect. Sure, she’s beautiful and talented, but she has a lot of demons and it helps her find a common bond with Sam.

Their connection was pretty instantaneous and I loved their chemistry. They have this fantastic witty banter that you can’t help but fall in love with. The character development in this book is really well done. It’s thorough and organic and effortless.

The only slight drawback was that it seemed a little insta-lovey but the more the book progresses, the more you can emotionally catch up with them and it feels right. That’s really my only complaint, if you can even call it one.

I’m thoroughly impressed by this book, I’m in love with the gorgeous cover (I absolutely must have a copy for my bookshelf!), and I cannot wait to read the next book, which is Henry’s m/m romance! So excited for that one.

The Fall Up is a well-rounded romance that will leave a smile on your face and your heart feeling full. Read it, love it, thank me for it later.
