Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to the Spring Court—but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can't forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people.
Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms—and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world cleaved in two.
With more than a million copies sold of her beloved Throne of Glass series, Sarah J. Maas's masterful storytelling brings this second book in her seductive and action-packed series to new heights.
A Court of Mist and Fury is officially my favorite book of 2016. I am utterly floored by the magnificence of this book. Sarah J. Maas is a master storyteller. Truly, she’s nothing like I’ve ever experienced before. The intricacies, attention to detail, and depth of this story is breathtaking.
She completely blew my mind. I went in with one expectation, and she completely changed my mind and my heart. There are so many factors at work and while at times it can be difficult to keep straight, it’s well worth the effort. The world building, the imagination behind all of it, is absolutely staggering. What it must be like to be inside Maas’s mind… I can’t even fathom. I imagine that it’s colors, stories, characters, and feelings so vivid that it must be painful. I am amazed just as a reader; it’s hard to comprehend the beauty of all of it. But to be the creator? Unfathomable.
I had such high expectations after reading A Court of Thorns and Roses. I was terrified that this book wouldn’t live up to it. And while she didn’t at all take the story where I hoped, it’s so much better than I dreamed it would be. The wait for the next book just might kill me.
The writing is superb, the story beautifully woven. Feyre really is an exceptional character. Strong beyond imagination, brave in the face of utter terror, unwavering in the wake of devastation. She is one of my favorite heroines of all time.
I just can’t get enough of these characters. I can’t recommend this series enough. Whether you’re a fantasy reader or not, whether you’re a romance reader or not, I strongly urge you to read these books. Whether it’s now, or after the final book has been released, do yourself a favor, and read them. This series is one of my all-time favorites. Here’s to living in sheer terror for the next twelve months that the next book won’t live up to the first two…
